Those 2011 ‘Nights’…

The 2011 Festival Nits de Cinema Oriental (Asian Summer Film Festival) closed with great reviews. A total of 29 films where shown: 12 on the official selection, 5 on the North Korea film retrospective and the rest on special screenings like the closing of the festival, a day of solidarity with Fukushima, movies for kids and summer camps.
The lineup included 4 international premieres: YAMADA, ENTHIRAN (THE ROBOT), TAI HONG (STILL) and THE ISLAND and there were dozens of parallel activities like workshops, conferences, the world premiere of the show DÉJÀ BOLLYBÚ and the traditional outdoor dinner nights prepared by top chefs of the countries with films at the festival. There was also the exhibit North Korea: ‘The Weight Of History’, a project by Casa Asia that took place at the Museu de l’Art de la Pell on July and August.

The attendance of its 8th edition surpassed the 5,000 viewers all protected by Khon, the devil that served as the face of the festival. Khon arrived directly from Thailand, the guest country. This year he’ll hand over his place to Siu Lung, the Hong Kong dragon.
