The Asian Summer Film Festival presents several activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Vic. On the 24th and the 25th of February, the city streets will be filled with Asian cinema, music and games. This will be the best way to present all the novelties of the 15th edition of the festival that will take place in Vic between the 17th and the 22nd of July.
11.00: TRADITIONAL CHINESE GAMES
Chinese families that live in Vic will show how to play traditional Chinese games. This activity is part of the series Vine a jugar al Casino (Come and play at the Casino) and counts with the support of the Local Cooperation Council.

13.00: DRAGON DANCE
The dragon is a symbol of strength, wealth and wisdom in China and it is believed that its dance can drive away evil spirits. For this reason, this mythological animal dances at important festivities of the Chinese calendar and the New Year is the main celebration.

19.00: FILM SCREENING - PARADOX (Wilson Yip, 2017 · Hong Kong/China)
In the third episode of the Spl saga, Wilson Yip (the director of the Ip Man series) takes us to the search of the daughter of a police officer from Hong Kong that has been kidnapped in Thailand. A good script, an intense interpretation starring the star of Cantonese films Louis Koo and detailed and extreme action choreographies are the main highlights of this excellent thriller that resembles the style and the boldness of the legendary films from Hong Kong in the 90s.

17:00: FILM SCREENING OF McDULL RISE OF THE RICE COOKER (Brian Tse, 2016 · China/Hong Kong)
The cutest piglet in the world, McDull, dreams of becoming a great inventor. He will be able to show his abilities when a hairy monster from outer space decides to invade the Earth. McDull and his mum are the most beloved cartoon characters in Hong Kong and their adventures and misadventures have a boundless imagination and an elegant stroke. This film is an ode to mothers that will move children and adults.
