The Asian Summer Film Festival will recognize the career of Japanese filmmaker Yoshihiro Nishimura with the Honorary Award. Nishimura, a film director, special effects and makeup artist, and screenwriter who has worked principally in the fantasy genre, is a leading figure in contemporary Japanese cinema thanks to his revolutionary special effects and direction of cult films such as Meatball Machine or Robo-Geisha.
At the Festival, we will enjoy Tokyo Dragon Chef, his latest crazy adventure: fun, delirious, full of rock'n'roll, and suitable for all audiences. A recipe for absurd pleasure and ingredients as appealing as insane action, a sense of humor not able to make head or tail, and WTF musical acts.
Honorary Award to Yoshihiro Nishimura: Wednesday, 21 July in La Bassa, before the screening of Josee, the Tiger and the Fish (9:45 p.m.).
Screening of Tokyo Dragon Chef: Friday, July 23 in L’Atlàntida, in a double session with On-Gaku: Our Sound (12:00 p. m.)
