At Xuanguang Temple there is a Buddhist monk with supernatural powers that realises he’s the reincarnation of the Golden Boy, who was expelled from heaven for breaking a sacred rule. He fell in love with a fairy named Jade. He’s sent to Earth to experience life and death a hundred times.
This utterly imaginative film is touched by the magic wand of Wong Jing’s unpredictable humour, influenced by legendary, romantic and action films such as A Chinese Ghost Story.
