The film hit of the year in China and Hong Kong will premiere at the Festival Nits

The Festival Nits de cinema oriental de Vic (Asian Summer Film Festival, 18th-23th July) will feature the national premiere of Shock Wave (Herman Yau, 2017), a spectacular thriller thathas been a box office hit in China and Hong Kong, snatching the top spot from Fast & Furious 8.

This film is added to two previously announced titles: The Posterist (Hui See-Wai, 2016) and Vampire Cleanup Department (Yan Pak Wing and Chiu Sin Hang, 2016), in the Official Selection of the festival.

The Posterist is a documentary about Yuen Tai-Yung, the illustrator of the most legendary posters in the history of Hong Kong cinema. Vic will welcome the film’s artistic team, including the 76-year-old “posterist”, who has received various tributes from the industry in his country. Some of his work will be exhibited during the festival.

Vampire Cleanup Department represents the return to the popular cinema of Chinese vampires. It combines both humour and terror in an ingenious and genuine script, replete with references to the cinema of this genre in Hong Kong.

40 titles, including feature films and short films, will complete the program of a festival that consolidates as a reference of Asian cinema in Catalonia and the rest of the country.
