Movistar+ has chosen the Festival Nits (18th-23rd July), a country’s reference in Asian cinema, to present the latest film by the creator of the well-known Welcome to Dongmakgol, director Park Kwang Hyun.
Fabricated City (distributed by Isaan Entertainment) will be shown at the Official Competition Section on Thursday, the 20th of July at La Bassa dels Hermanos in Vic, the venue where night screenings take place (at 10pm, with Oriental dinner included), authentic cinema celebrations.
Spectators attending the themed nights at La Bassa will be able to enjoy this fast-paced, intelligent and stylised science fiction film in which the story and the characters hook us from the first minute: Kwoon Yoo leads a double life; in the real world he is an unemployed young boy who has difficulties socialising with other people, but in the virtual reality world of the game he is hooked too, he is the ring leader of an elite group. A murder investigation will make both worlds meet.

The collaboration between Movistar+ and the Asian Summer Film Festival presents the Sessions Movistar+ screenings, which include the aforementioned premiere, the film Love and Peace (Sion Sono, 2015) and the series Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter (Goro Miyazaki - Ghibli Studio, 2014- 2015).
Love and Peace, directed by the new master of Japanese cinema, Sion Sono, explains the delirious story of a clerk, who wants to be a rock star, and his beloved turtle. The screening will take place at Centre Cívic Can Pau Raba on the 15th of July (within the program of activities prior to the Festival: 'Més Nits!') And will be preceded by a lecture by Iván Fernández, an Asian cinema specialist, with the collaboration of Paco Fox, programmer of Movistar+ and an important influencer in the audiovisual industry.
With the presentation of Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter, the opening chapters of the first Ghibli Studio animated series will be shown in the country for the first time: Ronja is the daughter of the leader of the bandits. She was born on a stormy night under the gaze of harpies and grey dwarfs. Soon becomes clear she is a special girl. Ronja will be shown on Friday the 21st of July at one of the children's sessions that will kick off the day’s screenings every morning, at 10 am at Cinema Vigatà.
