The 13th edition of the Asian Summer Film Festival in Vic will take place between the 12th and the 17th of July. This year, it will shine bright thanks to Hikari, the yokai lantern that is the image of the festival, and he will light it up.
His magical light will project about 40 films across several sections, the official competition selection, kid’s films, retrospective, special screenings and themed nights like the Horror Nights or Late Night Screening. Faithful to its beginnings, the festival will try to find the Zen balance to combine the most amazing blockbusters from Asia and the most radical and creative art films. This year, the Asian Summer Film Festival will screen seven non-competitive short films that will complement some of the sessions.
For the first time, not all the films of the festival will be produced in Asia. Ruta Marco Polo is a new brand that wants to welcome Western productions that talk about Asia to the festival.
Hikari’s will brighten the parallel activities that will take place at the outdoor stage at La Bassa dels Hermanos, at the Joan Triadú Library, Casa Convalescència and Jazz Cava and will warm up all the delicious Asian dishes that will be served at the themed dinners at La Bassa. The festival also offers flavours and spices, workshops for everyone, live music, dance shows and martial arts performances.
Especially Hikari who will guide visitors and spectators so they don’t miss anything during the Asian Summer Film Festival in Vic.
